About me
I was a special education teacher for 15 years before making the move over to general education 4 years ago, teaching both Language Arts & Math in both those positions. For this reason, I have the unique perspective of having participated in the IEP process from both sides of the table. I am passionate about teaching and making curriculum accessible to all types of different learners.
In my life outside of school, I am on the board of LGBTQ Outreach of Porter County, a local 501c3. Our mission is driven by providing education, advocacy, empowerment, and support. I look forward to being able to present about LGBTQ+ students and how they can be better supported in our public school classrooms. (www.lgbtqofpc.org)
